Lower Home Loan Rates!

PCCU has lower home loan rates for our members. All our home loans rates are under 4% and the one year fixed rate is under 3%.  Click on the current rates button on our website for more details or call Marg, Karen or Maggie at 705-748-4481.

E Transfer Coming Spring 2012

Your credit union has intiated the development and implementation of E-transfer through our online banking system.  When the project is completed, members will be able to transfer funds to friends and relatives through your e-mail.  We are working with  Central 1 Credit Union and our system provider who have the expertise to ensure security and functionality of the system. When testing is completed in late spring of 2012 we will roll out this service to our members.   If members have a mobile phone with access to e-mail, they will also be able to use this service on the go.

Cheque Imaging

Where do you store the returned cheques you get back in your statement each month? Would you be able to find one if you needed it to prove you made a payment? New regulations now allow for a copy or image of any cheque to be accepted as proof of payment, just like the original. In doing this, the Canadian Payments Authority which oversees how the clearing system operates, will be introducing a new clearing regime using only electronic images. This will reduce costs by not having financial institutions transport paper items within the system. Right now our members have access to images of your cheques through our online banking system or by individual request to the credit union. So, all paper items are currently also kept as images. In the spring of 2012 the credit union will stop receiving paper cheques back, and therefore they will not be available to return to our members. Since the electronic images will be accepted for proof of payment, just like the paper items were, this should not negatively affect members. The electronic images will be stored securely in our Central Credit Union archive, and can be retrieved any time they are needed. In addition the electronic copies will still also be available from online banking. Keeping clearing costs down means the credit union can keep fees lower for our members. We will provide members with more details in the next few months, when we have more exact dates, when this change will occur. All financial institutions are included in this process.

New Info Voice Telephone Banking System

PCCU has recently updated our old telephone banking system with our new INFOVOICE digital system.  Members will notice a few changes to your menu options but generally it will provide the same information and transaction processing to which you have become accustomed.  Members will have the added option of being able to transfer between two different account numbers, if you so choose.  If you wish to do this you will need to contact Michelle at 705-748-4481 to have the option added to your account on the system. Once the option is added, you can freely use it as often as you like.  If you have any questions about the new system, please call us, so we may assist you.  Members with old type S05 share accounts should request information for the account called "special savings".
